General Datatech has been a trusted deployment partner for several major carriers, helping them to reliably schedule and execute national deployments in support of strategic initiatives.

GDT’s CCIE/CCNP, regionally-based staff has solid experience with relevant carrier technologies such as ATM, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other advanced protocols. With expertise in both network engineering and physical connectivity engineering, GDT’s professional services team effectively integrates with the carrier’s existing engineering staff to help translate network objectives into cabling run sheets for on-site field technicians to execute. Throughout the project lifecycle, our professional services team seeks to develop strong relationships with client engineers to quickly resolve any on-site design issues that may arise.

Structured cabling within central offices requires extensive knowledge of industry standards (e.g. Telecordia) as well as client-specific standards. We place emphasis on developing good communication with site managers and technicians to understand and meet their technical and cosmetic requirements.

General Datatech’s field technicians are certified in the major materials vendors (e.g. Krone, Systimax, Ortronics, Berktek, Corning, etc) and have significant experience in central office environments. Our field technician team is experienced in working with all types of media (copper, fiber, coax) as well as support structures (ironwork, fiber trough, etc). We also have an in-house DC power division and a procurement function with 20+ years of experience. The breadth and depth of our capabilities enable us to provide exceptional solutions to the challenges our client carriers face.

Staging equipment prior to deployment has a dramatic impact on helping to meet project schedules with minimal hardware issues. Having proven and documented processes helps ensure that equipment arrives at the site when it's expected with working hardware and correct configurations.

General Datatech most often provides staging as a component of our national deployment services. However, we also provide warehousing and "staging on-demand" services for client gear. Our in-house electronic tracking systems help us manage client inventory effectively. And our strict staging guidelines help reduce on-site hardware failures and ensure that device configurations are consistent and accurate.
